About this service
A merrowed border is the thick, rolled edge you see on classic round, oval, and shield patches, sewn with a merrow machine after the patch is embroidered. Merrow machines only follow simple, smooth shapes, so the patch outline must avoid sharp inside corners and tight curves. We digitize the patch with an outline the merrow can follow, a clean edge allowance, and a design that sits comfortably inside the border.
